Gift Card FAQs and T&Cs

Do you sell physical Gift Cards? 

A gift card purchased through our website is only available as an email.

If you prefer a physical one, you can purchase it directly at the restaurant.

Can I use my Gift Card at the restaurant or online? 

The online Gift Card recipient can use it to dine at Trattoria Emilia, purchase wine directly from the restaurant or purchase products online.

The physical Gift Card can be used only at Trattoria Emilia to dine in.

How do I redeem my Gift Card? 

At the restaurant

Please present your Gift Card upon arrival.

Gift cards apply to the order total, including tax, shipping, and any transaction fees.

If the order total exceeds the gift card value, you can pay the remaining amount using our restaurant's supported payment methods or another gift card.

The gift card doesn’t cover the transaction fees if there is a remaining amount to be paid.

Online

Enter the Gift Card code at the checkout to subtract the gift card value from their order total.

You can apply the gift card to any product except to purchase another Gift Card.

Gift cards apply to the order total, including tax, shipping, and any transaction fees.

If the order total exceeds the gift card value, you can pay the remaining amount using our online store's supported payment methods or another gift card. 

If your order total is less than the gift card value, you can complete checkout without another payment method.

The amount applied, and the remaining value is displayed at the checkout and in the order receipt.

The amount left in the Gift Card can be used to purchase online products or dine in at Trattoria Emilia.

Do Gift Cards cover taxes? 

Yes, the gift card covers taxes, both for the online and physical versions.

Is there an expiration date?

Online: the gift cards that you buy online don’t have an expiry date.

Physical: one-year validity from the day of purchase.

Can I split an order between a Gift Card and a credit card?

Yes. If your order total exceeds the value remaining on their gift card, you can pay the balance using standard payment methods. 

Can I use more than one Gift Card for an order?

Yes. You can apply multiple gift cards to an order online and when dining at Trattoria Emilia too.

Can I use less than the total value of my gift card?

Restaurant: If the bill total is less than the gift card value, only the bill value will be deducted from the Gift Card. You can then use the remaining balance during your next visit to Trattoria Emilia.

Online: Yes, if your order total is less than the gift card value, you can complete checkout without another payment method. The applied amount and the remaining value are displayed at checkout and in the order receipt. 

Do sale pricing and discounts apply to purchasing gift cards? 

No. Sales pricing and discount codes can’t be applied to purchasing a gift card. However, these discounts will apply to orders that you can complete using a gift card. 

What do I do if I lose my Gift Card? 

If the Gift Card was purchased online, we will need the purchased details to resend it to you.

If the Gift Card is physical, we can’t help you with that.

Gift Cards will not be replaced or honoured if they are damaged, lost, stolen, or the subject of fraudulent presentation.

Trattoria Emilia cannot be held responsible if a Gift Card is used by someone else who received it by mistake. It is your responsibility to check that the delivery email address provided is correct.

Should Trattoria Emilia suspect any fraud relating to a Gift Card, Trattoria Emilia may refuse to redeem the Gift Card until Trattoria Emilia is satisfied that no fraud has occurred. 

Can I add value to a Gift Card?

No, it is not possible to add value to a gift card, you have to purchase a new one. 

Can I set a specific time to send the email with the Gift Card to the recipient? 

No, it is not possible. If you want to send the email to the recipient at a later date, you should select the Email to You delivery option at checkout.

You can then manually forward the email to the recipient at the desired time. 

Can I exchange a Gift Card for cash? 

Gift Card sales are final and cannot be exchanged wholly or partly for cash. 

Can I get a refund for a Gift Card?

No, the Gift Card is not refundable.

If you return, part return, or cancel an online order for which a Gift Card was used as payment, the refund will be issued in the same way as the purchase.
(For example, a $20 Gift Card and $20 on a credit card would be returned in the same way.) 

I purchased a Gift Card online, but I didn’t receive it.

When a Gift Card is purchased on our website, it can take up to 1 hour for the voucher to be sent to the recipient.

The Gift Card might end up in your spam or primary / promotions / socials / updates folders.

If there is a delay, Trattoria Emilia cannot be held responsible.

It is your responsibility to check the delivery email address provided is correct.

We cannot take responsibility if a gift voucher cannot be delivered to the recipient’s email address because of spam filters, firewalls, or other factors outside our control.
